Ind. Code § 36-2-2.5-20 – Employment of attorney to represent and advise executive

(a) The single county executive may employ and fix the compensation of an attorney to represent and advise the executive.
(b) For purposes of Article 2, Section 9 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana, employment by a single county executive as an attorney does not constitute a lucrative office.
