1. (a) The supreme court may issue or authorize another court to issue a photographic identification card to a judicial officer who retires in good standing, for purposes of complying with section 1(b) of this chapter.

2. (b) A retired judicial officer who wishes to possess and use a firearm under section 1(a) of this chapter must receive at least one (1) hour of training annually in the use of a firearm. The training must be in person, conducted by a certified firearms instructor, and include live fire training. To comply with section 1(b) of this chapter, the instructor must provide the retired judicial officer with a certificate or other document showing:

   1. (1) the date of the training;
   2. (2) that the training was provided by a certified firearms instructor; and
   3. (3) that the training was at least one (1) hour in length and included live fire training.
