1. (a) The following definitions apply throughout this section:

   1. (1) "Purchase" has the meaning set forth in IC 25-37.5-1-1 .
   2. (2) "Valuable metal" has the meaning set forth in IC 25-37.5-1-1 .
   3. (3) "Valuable metal dealer" has the meaning set forth in IC 25-37.5-1-1 .

2. (b) A valuable metal dealer who:

   1. (1) knowingly or intentionally fails to comply with IC 25-37.5-1 ; and

   2. (2) purchases stolen valuable metal;

      commits concealing a valuable metal purchase, a Level 6 felony.
