1. (a) The attorney general may decline to receive property reported under this chapter if the attorney general considers the property to have a value less than the expenses of the notice and the sale of the property.

2. (b) A holder, with the written consent of the attorney general and upon conditions and terms prescribed by the attorney general, may report and deliver property before the property is presumed abandoned. Property delivered to the attorney general under this subsection must be held in the property custody fund established under section 32 of this chapter, and the property is not presumed abandoned until the property otherwise would be presumed abandoned under this chapter.
