Each of the appointed members of a town election board may nominate:

1. (1) one (1) person to serve as a judge;
2. (2) one (1) person to serve as an election sheriff, except in a precinct subject to a resolution adopted under section 25 of this chapter;
3. (3) one (1) person to serve as a poll clerk; and

4. (4) one (1) person to serve as an assistant poll clerk, if assistant poll clerks are to be appointed;

   for each precinct in the town.
