Ind. Code § 27-2-13-1

Definitions

As used in this chapter:

  1. (a) "Authorized agency" means:

    1. (1) the state fire marshal or a fire department acting under IC 36-8-17 ;
    2. (2) the superintendent of the state police;
    3. (3) the prosecuting attorney responsible for prosecutions in the county where the fire occurred;
    4. (4) the attorney general; and
    5. (5) an arson investigator.
  2. (b) "Relevant" refers to information having any tendency to make the existence of any fact that is of consequence to the investigation or determination of a fire loss more probable or less probable than it would have been without the evidence.
  3. (c) "Insurer" has the same meaning as in IC 27-1-2-3 (x) and includes the Indiana FAIR plan.
  4. (d) "Arson investigator" means an officer of a unit of local government whose duties include the investigation of arson.
