Ind. Code § 25-30-1-3

Necessity of license

It shall be unlawful for a person to:

  1. (1) engage in business as a private investigator firm;
  2. (2) solicit or advertise for business as a private investigator firm; or
  3. (3) represent or hold the person out as a private investigator firm;

    unless the person is licensed as a private investigator firm under this chapter and complies with this chapter and rules adopted under this chapter.
