1. (a) An individual who is licensed as a marriage and family therapist under this chapter shall notify the board in writing when the individual retires from practice.

2. (b) Upon receipt of the notice, the board shall:

   1. (1) record the fact the individual is retired; and
   2. (2) release the individual from further payment of renewal fees and continuing education requirements.
