The board shall, after receiving recommendations from the committee, do the following:

1. (1) Determine the education that satisfies the requirements in section 1 of this chapter.

2. (2) Establish formal education requirements in addition to those required in section 1 of this chapter. The requirements must include course material on:

   1. (A) emergency life support procedures;
   2. (B) identification of high risk births for mothers;
   3. (C) identification of potential complications during labor; and
   4. (D) other material the board specifies.
