1. (a) The board shall issue a health facility administrator's license to any person who applies for a health facility administrator license, if the applicant:

   1. (1) does not have a criminal history that disqualifies the applicant from obtaining a health facility administrator license in Indiana in accordance with IC 25-1-1.1 ;

   2. (2) has practiced in another state for at least one (1) year as a:

      1. (A) licensed health facility administrator and currently holds an active license in good standing as a health facility administrator in another state;
      2. (B) chief executive officer of a hospital; or
      3. (C) chief operations officer of a hospital; and

   3. (3) has successfully completed the:

      1. (A) national examination; and
      2. (B) Indiana jurisprudence examination, as approved by the board.

2. (b) The board shall issue a residential care administrator license to any person who applies for a residential care administrator license, if the applicant:

   1. (1) does not have a criminal history that disqualifies the applicant from obtaining a residential care administrator license in Indiana in accordance with IC 25-1-1.1 ; and

   2. (2) has practiced in another state for at least one (1) year as a:

      1. (A) licensed health facility administrator and currently holds an active license in good standing as a health facility administrator in another state;
      2. (B) licensed, certified, or registered residential care administrator and currently holds an active license, certification, or registration that is in good standing as a residential care administrator in another state;
      3. (C) chief executive officer of a hospital; or
      4. (D) chief operations officer of a hospital.

3. (c) The board shall issue a health facility administrator license or a residential care administrator license to an individual who:

   1. (1) holds an approved National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards Health Services Executive license in good standing; and
   2. (2) does not have a criminal history that disqualifies the applicant from obtaining a health facility administrator license or a residential care administrator license in Indiana in accordance with IC 25-1-1.1 .
