"Geology" means a science that has the following characteristics:

1. (1) Treats the earth as a whole.

2. (2) Includes the:

   1. (A) investigation;
   2. (B) analysis;
   3. (C) classification; and

   4. (D) location;

      of the rocks and other materials that compose the earth's crust, as they relate to geologic processes.

3. (3) Involves the study of:

   1. (A) minerals, gases, and liquids composing and contained within the earth's crust; and
   2. (B) geologic materials and processes.
