1. (a) The board has eleven (11) members, appointed as follows:

   1. (1) The chief inspector of the division of elevator safety or the chief inspector's designee.
   2. (2) One (1) individual who represents an insurance company that insures regulated amusement devices, appointed by the governor.
   3. (3) One (1) individual who is a carnival owner, appointed by the governor.
   4. (4) One (1) individual who represents a state or county fair organization, appointed by the governor.
   5. (5) One (1) individual who represents a manufacturer of regulated amusement devices, appointed by the governor.
   6. (6) One (1) individual who represents an amusement park, appointed by the governor.
   7. (7) One (1) individual who represents festival or event organizers, appointed by the governor.
   8. (8) One (1) professional engineer, appointed by the governor.

   9. (9) Three (3) individuals who represent the general public, appointed as follows:

      1. (A) The governor shall appoint one (1) individual.
      2. (B) The speaker of the house of representatives shall appoint one (1) individual.
      3. (C) The president pro tempore of the senate shall appoint one
      4. (1) individual.
2. (b) Each member appointed under subsection (a) must be a resident of Indiana.
