Any credit for an algebra course that:

1. (1) is earned prior to entering grade 9; and

2. (2) meets a specific high school mathematics course requirement;

   must count toward the credit requirements for an Indiana diploma with a Core 40 with academic honors designation under IC 20-19-2-21 .
