A school corporation may adopt regulations governing the payment or part payment of teachers and then make payments in accordance with those regulations to teachers who are absent because of:

1. (1) sickness;
2. (2) attending school conventions or meetings;
3. (3) visiting other schools; or

4. (4) a death in the immediate family.
