Ind. Code § 20-25.3-3-3

Term of office; vacancy; removal for cause

As added by P.L.101-2026, SEC.12.
  1. (a) The term of office of an appointed member of the corporation board is four (4) years. The member's term begins on July 1 after the appointment.
  2. (b) Each member holds office for the term of appointment and continues to serve after expiration of the appointment until a successor is appointed and qualified. A member is eligible for reappointment.
  3. (c) If there is a vacancy in the corporation board, the mayor shall fill the vacancy for the unexpired term.
  4. (d) A vacancy occurs if a member dies, resigns, changes residence of the county, or ceases to be a:

    1. (1) leader of a participating innovation network charter school or charter school located within the geographic boundaries of the school city; or
    2. (2) member of the board of commissioners.
  5. (e) A member of the corporation board may be removed for cause by the mayor.
