1. (a) The corporation is governed by the Indianapolis public education corporation board appointed under this section.

2. (b) The corporation board is comprised of the following nine (9) members:

   1. (1) Three (3) members appointed by the mayor who:

      1. (A) are leaders of participating innovation network charter schools or charter schools located within the geographic boundaries of the school city; and
      2. (B) are not members of a charter school board of a charter school described in clause (A) who were appointed by the mayor.
   2. (2) Three (3) members appointed by the mayor who are members of the board of school commissioners.

   3. (3) Three (3) members appointed by the mayor who have:

      1. (A) expertise in management, capital planning, facilities, transportation, or logistics; or
      2. (B) experience in working with vulnerable student populations and communities.
3. (c) All members of the corporation board must reside within the geographic boundaries of the school city.
4. (d) The mayor shall appoint one (1) of the members of the corporation board as chairperson of the corporation board.
