Subject to the limitations and procedure set out in this chapter, any:

1. (1) school corporation may annex territory from any other school corporation by resolutions of the acquiring and losing school corporations as provided in section 11 of this chapter; and

2. (2) school city may annex territory from any other school corporation by a single resolution of the school city as provided in section 12 of this chapter.
