1. (a) The mastery based education pilot program is established to support a school corporation or charter school that is selected by the department under subsection (b) in implementing mastery based education.

2. (b) The department:

   1. (1) shall administer the pilot program; and

   2. (2) may select school corporations and charter schools that meet the requirements under this chapter to participate in the pilot program.
