Ind. Code § 2-7-1-1.7 – "Close relative"

(a) "Close relative" refers to the following relatives of an individual:
1. (1) The individual's parent.
2. (2) The individual's spouse.
3. (3) The individual's children.
(b) A relative by adoption, half-blood, marriage, or remarriage is considered as a relative of whole kinship.
