As used in this chapter, "cancer center" means one (1) of the following:

1. (1) An institution that has been designated by the National Cancer Institute as a:

   1. (A) comprehensive cancer center;
   2. (B) clinical cancer center; or
   3. (C) basic laboratory cancer center.
2. (2) A cancer research facility that is formally part of an approved postsecondary educational institution (as defined in IC 21-7-13-6 (b)).
