Ind. Code § 16-32-3.5-9

Proof of disability

As added by P.L.230-2023, SEC.7.
  1. (a) A public accommodation shall not ask about the nature or extent of an individual's disability, but may make the following two (2) inquiries to determine whether an animal qualifies as a service animal:

    1. (1) Whether the animal is required because of a disability.
    2. (2) What work or task the animal has been trained to perform.
  2. (b) A public accommodation shall not require documentation, such as proof that the animal has been:

    1. (1) certified;
    2. (2) trained; or
    3. (3) licensed;

      as a service animal.

  3. (c) A public accommodation may not make inquiries about a service animal's qualifications when it is readily apparent that the animal is trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.
