1. (a) The board of city health departments shall recommend and the city fiscal body shall fix the compensation of employees of the city health department.

2. (b) The county fiscal body shall fix the compensation of the employees of county health departments, in the manner provided by IC 36-2-5 or IC 36-3-6 , after consideration of the recommendations of the local board of health.
