Each herd in which brucellosis infection is revealed shall be placed under quarantine by the board until:

1. (1) all cattle that react positively to a bovine brucellosis test have been sold for slaughter; and

2. (2) the remainder of the herd tests negative for brucellosis under the rules of the board.
