- (a) Synthetic liners and installation plans must be approved by the state chemist. The installation plan must address proposed protection of the synthetic liner from mechanical damage, vandalism, wildlife, and deterioration from exposure to the sun according to the manufacturer's recommendations. A synthetic liner may not be approved by the state chemist until the manufacturer of the liner provides a written confirmation of compatibility and estimate of the life of the liner.
- (b) Synthetic liners must have a minimum thickness of thirty (30) mils (eight-tenths (0.8) millimeters) and be chemically compatible with the materials being stored within the containment areas.
- (c) Synthetic liners must be installed under the supervision of a qualified representative of the manufacturer, and all field constructed seams must be tested and repaired according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
