1. (a) Subject to subsection (b):

   1. (1) each member of the trustees who is not a state employee is entitled to the minimum salary per diem provided by IC 4-10-11-2.1 (b) and is entitled to reimbursement for travel expenses and other expenses actually incurred in connection with the member's duties; and

   2. (2) each member of the trustees who is a state employee is entitled to reimbursement for traveling expenses and other expenses actually incurred in connection with the member's duties;

      as provided in the state policies and procedures established by the Indiana department of administration and approved by the budget agency.

2. (b) The commission shall adopt a policy for:

   1. (1) the number of meetings the trustees may hold; and

   2. (2) payment of per diem and travel expenses:

      1. (A) for trustees' meetings; and

      2. (B) during the time of other required activities.
