Duties during drilling and construction of well

As added by P.L.161-2026, SEC.56.

During the drilling and construction of a Class VI injection well, a storage operator must:

  1. (1) perform appropriate logs;
  2. (2) perform surveys and tests to determine or verify the:

    1. (A) depth;
    2. (B) thickness;
    3. (C) porosity;
    4. (D) permeability;
    5. (E) lithology; and
    6. (F) salinity;

      of any formation fluids in all relevant geologic formations to ensure conformance with the injection well construction requirements of the department; and

  3. (3) establish accurate baseline data against which future measurements may be compared.

    The storage operator must submit to the department a report prepared by a log analyst that includes an interpretation of the results of each log and test.
