1. (a) Not later than September 1, 2030, the department shall submit to the budget committee a report that sets forth the following information:

   1. (1) The number of metric tons of carbon dioxide injected into the pore space in Indiana during the period:

      1. (A) beginning January 1, 2025; and
      2. (B) ending June 30, 2030.

   2. (2) Costs incurred by the department to administer the carbon sequestration project program under this chapter during the period:

      1. (A) beginning January 1, 2023; and
      2. (B) ending June 30, 2030.

   3. (3) Estimates of:

      1. (A) the amount of carbon dioxide to be injected into the pore space in Indiana under the carbon sequestration project program; and

      2. (B) the costs to the department to administer the carbon sequestration project program under this chapter;

         during the period beginning July 1, 2030, and ending June 30, 2034.

2. (b) Not later than September 1, 2034, the department shall submit to the budget committee a report that sets forth the following information:

   1. (1) The amount of money collected by the department under this chapter during the period:

      1. (A) beginning July 1, 2030; and
      2. (B) ending June 30, 2034.

   2. (2) Costs incurred by the department to administer the carbon sequestration project program under this chapter during the period:

      1. (A) beginning July 1, 2030; and
      2. (B) ending June 30, 2034.

   3. (3) Estimates of:

      1. (A) the amount of money the department anticipates collecting under this chapter; and

      2. (B) the costs to the department to administer the carbon sequestration project program under this chapter;

         during the period beginning July 1, 2034, and ending June 30, 2040.

   4. (4) A recommendation as to the amount of any adjustment to fees under this chapter necessary to ensure the financial viability of the underground storage of carbon dioxide.
3. (c) This section expires January 1, 2041.
