As used in this chapter, "Kankakee River basin" means the area in Jasper County, LaPorte County, Lake County, Marshall County, Newton County, Porter County, St. Joseph County, and Starke County that is drained by the Kankakee River and tributaries of the Kankakee River in Indiana.
