The commission may, in the commission's discretion:

1. (1) acquire on behalf of the state;
2. (2) through gifts, bequests, legacies, and donations or by purchase out of money received as similar contributions; and

3. (3) at prices considered reasonable to the commission;

   land, buildings, structures, and other property or interests in property.
