Within a reasonable time after receiving an order to conduct an examination and after the court submits the required supporting documents and certification of eligibility, the division shall do the following:

1. (1) Report to the court the results of the examination.
2. (2) Recommend whether the individual should be placed on probation and supervision for treatment.
