Establishment of maternal neonatal opioid addiction project; administration

  1. (a) Subject to the approval of the Indiana commission to combat drug abuse, the maternal neonatal opioid addiction project is established within the division to provide to a participating health care system funding and resources for opioid addiction treatment and recovery for:

    1. (1) expectant mothers who have a prenatal toxicology test that is positive for opioids; and
    2. (2) newborn children of mothers described in subdivision (1);

      beginning at the time of the positive toxicology test and ending on the first birthday of the newborn child.

  2. (b) The division shall administer the project.
