1. (a) An emergency medical responder, other responder, emergency medical responder's employer, and other responder's employer are immune from civil liability if the emergency medical responder or other responder:

   1. (1) is unable to make contact with the program participant's emergency contact after a good faith attempt; or
   2. (2) disseminates or fails to disseminate any information from the yellow dot folder to other emergency medical responders, other responders, hospitals, or any health care providers that render emergency medical treatment to the program participant.

2. (b) A health care provider and a health care provider's employer are immune from civil and criminal liability if the health care provider relies in good faith on the information provided in a program participant's yellow dot folder.
