"Confined" has the same meaning as "committed" except it does not refer to any part of:

1. (1) parole;
2. (2) a minimum security assignment to a program requiring periodic reporting to a designated official; or

3. (3) intermittent service of a term of imprisonment;

   that does not entail imprisonment in a correctional or penal facility.
