The executive director shall appoint a director of the office. The director shall do the following:
- (1) Serve as the executive head of the office.
- (2) Advise executive state agencies and political subdivisions regarding state best practices concerning matters relating to school safety.
- (3) Oversee the duties of the office and coordinate school safety resources in consultation with other state agencies and provide leadership regarding school safety matters.
