The:

1. (1) soldiers and sailors of World War I;
2. (2) soldiers and sailors of the war with Spain;
3. (3) soldiers and sailors of the war in the Philippine Islands;
4. (4) soldiers who were in service on the Mexican border during the years 1916 and 1917; and

5. (5) soldiers and sailors who are in the regular service of the United States;

   who are residents of Indiana and the surviving spouses and orphans of individuals specified in subdivisions (1) through (5) have the rights and privileges held by the soldiers and sailors of the Civil War and the surviving spouses and orphans of the soldiers and sailors of the Civil War.
