(Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2029)

1. (a) The Department shall exercise the powers and duties prescribed by "The Civil Administrative Code of Illinois" for the administration of licensing acts and shall exercise such other powers and duties invested by this Act.
2. (b) The Secretary may promulgate rules consistent with the provisions of this Act for the administration and enforcement of the provisions of this Act for which the Department is responsible and for the payment of fees connected therewith and may prescribe forms which shall be issued in connection therewith. The rules shall include standards and criteria for licensure and professional conduct and discipline.

3. (c) The Department may solicit the advice and expert knowledge of the Committee or the Board on any matter relating to the administration and enforcement of this Act.

   The Department may, in its discretion, employ or use the legal services of outside counsel and the investigative services of outside personnel to assist the Department, and the Department is authorized to pay for such services from the Registered Certified Public Accountants' Administration and Disciplinary Fund.
