AUTHORITY: Implementing and authorized by the Illinois Code of Military Justice [20 ILCS 1807].DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AFFAIRS
a) A military judge may punish for contempt any person who refuses a court order, is disrespectful to the court, or who uses any menacing word, sign or gesture in its presence, or who disturbs its proceedings by any riot or disorder.
b) A person subject totheCode may be punished for contempt by confinement not to exceed 30 days or a fine up to $500, or both.
c) A person not subject totheCode may be punished for contempt by a military court in the same manner as a criminal court oftheState. (Code Section 48)
d) Any appeal shall be to the Fourth District of the Illinois Appellate Court.
