AUTHORITY: Implementing Article VIII of Chapter 12 of the Illinois Vehicle Code [625 ILCS 5/Ch. 12, Art. VIII] and Section 14-3(m) of the Criminal Code of 1961 [720 ILCS 5/14-3(m)] and authorized by Section 12-812 of the Illinois Vehicle Code [625 ILCS 5/12-812].DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

The Department, through its Division of Traffic Safety, has the responsibility to ensure that the public and private agencies engaged in the transportation of passengers on school buses are cognizant of and meet minimum safety standards related to vehicle construction.
