Purpose

AUTHORITY: Implementing and authorized by the Children and Family Service Act [20 ILCS 505]; the Child Care Act of 1969 [225 ILCS 10]; the Adoption Assistance and Child Welfare Act of 1980 (42 U.S.C. 670 et seq.); 45 CFR 1355 and 45 CFR 1356; the Juvenile Court Act of 1987 [705 ILCS 405]; and the Adoption Act [750 ILCS 50].DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES

The purpose of this Part is to specify the standards for certification of relative caregiver homes for children whom the Department of Children and Family Services is legally responsible. Certified relative caregivers shall meet the standards prescribed by this Part, which are intended to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of related youth in care.
