a) Each unit shall have a bathroom that provides privacy when in use and that contains:
- 1) An operational toilet;
- 2) An operational sink, which may be provided in the same room as the toilet or in an adjacent room;
- 3) A bathtub or shower (new establishments only);
- 4) A mirror, unless the resident's service plan requires otherwise;
- 5) A means of ventilation or an operable window; and
- 6) Assistive devices such as grab bars, if identified in a resident's service plan, to provide for resident safety.
b) Bathing facilities shall meet the following requirements:
- 1) All showers and bathtubs shall have slip-resistant surfaces;
- 2) Assistive devices shall be provided if indicated by the resident's service plan; and
- 3) All tub enclosures and showers shall be of nonporous surfaces.
- 4) Shared bathing rooms shall be lockable from the inside; and
- 5) If more than one shower or bathtub is provided in a common bathing room, privacy curtains shall be provided.
- c) Each unit shall accommodate small kitchen appliances. (Section 10 of the Act)
