Recreational Activities
AUTHORITY: Implementing and authorized by the Illinois Vehicle Code [625 ILCS 5] and the Substance Use Disorder Act [20 ILCS 301].DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES
- a) Recreational activities are allowed as part of the patient's treatment in any level of care if they are identified as an assessed need and can contribute to ongoing recovery support.
- b) All recreational activities shall be conducted in the presence of and under the direct supervision of staff who have basic knowledge of the activity and its relevance to the patient's treatment.
- c) Recreational activities shall not average more than
of the treatment services for any patient in any ASAM level of care. - d) Recreational activities shall be documented by time, date, and duration in the patient record.
