Scope and Purpose
AUTHORITY: Implementing and authorized by Sections 5.01, 5.02, 5.03 and 9.01 of the Surface Coal Mining Land Conservation and Reclamation Act [225 ILCS 720/5.01, 5.02, 5.03 and 9.01].DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
This part establishes the requirements and procedures applicable to coal exploration operations on all lands except for Federal lands subject to the requirements of 43 CFR 3480-3487 (1986).
