1. a) Violation of the provisions of this Subpart may result in an enforcement action and sanctions pursuant to Titles VIII and XII of the Environmental Protection Act;

2. b) This Subpart B serves the following functions:

   1. 1) It prohibits the conduct of hazardous waste management operations without a RCRA permit (Sections 703.121 and 703.122);
   2. 2) It specifies exclusions from the permit requirement (Section 703.123);
   3. 3) It sets times for the filing of applications and reapplications (Sections 703.125 and 703.126);
   4. 4) It prohibits violation of the conditions of RCRA permits (Section 703.122);
   5. c) Subpart C grants permits by rule, and sets the conditions for interim status, which allows operation of certain facilities prior to permit issuance. Subpart C contains prohibitions applicable during the interim status period;

3. d) The following definitions apply to this Subpart B:

   1. 1) 35 Ill. Adm. Code 702.110; and

      1. 2) 35 Ill. Adm. Code 721, the definitions of "solid waste" and "hazardous waste".
