1. a) water column chemistry –

   1. 1) upstream/downstream and overflow sampling;
   2. 2) wet weather/dry weather sampling;
   3. 3) diurnal sampling for dissolved oxygen (D.O.);
   4. 4) parameters generally will include BOD₅, suspended solids, volatile suspended solids, ammonia. Other parameters may become important depending on the nature of the overflow; and
   5. 5) other parameters as deemed appropriate relative to 35 Ill. Adm. Code 375.302(a)(8).

2. b) sediment analysis –

   1. 1) sediment oxygen demand;
   2. 2) percent volatile matter;
   3. 3) particle size distribution; and
   4. 4) other parameters as deemed appropriate relative to 35 Ill. Adm. Code 375.302(a)(8).

3. c) biological survey –

   1. 1) benthic macroinvertebrates;
   2. 2) fishes; and
   3. 3) plant productivity assessment (algal blooms).
4. d) hydraulic and hydrologic factors including storm hydrographs for receiving stream and overflow.
