Referendum Requirements

Reg. 18366AUTHORITY: Implementing and authorized by the Illinois Library System Act [75 ILCS 10], the State Library Act [15 ILCS 320], the Illinois Literacy Act [15 ILCS 322], the federal Library Services and Technology Act (20 U.S.C. 9141 et seq.), the Accessible Electronic Information Act [15 ILCS 323] and 36 CFR 701.6, and Section 3 of the Capital Development Bond Act of 1972 [30 ILCS 420/3].SECRETARY OF STATE

a) After the State Librarian has approved all or part of a public library's application and made a determination of eligibility for a public library construction project grant, the governing body of the public library shall submit the project or the financing of the project to a referendum when the referendum is required by law.
b) The referendum is to be passed in the fiscal year the eligibility has been determined.
