Purpose
AUTHORITY: Implementing and authorized by Sections 1, 3, 4, and 6 of the Illinois Historic Preservation Act [20 ILCS 3410/1, 3, 4, and 6], Sections 1-70 and 5-15(a)(2) of the Illinois Administrative Procedure Act [5 ILCS 100/1-70 and 5-15(a)(2)], the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois [20 ILCS 805], the State Parks Act [20 ILCS 835], and the Archaeological and Paleontological Resources Protection Act [20 ILCS 3435].DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
This article sets forth the conditions under which archaeological research by organizations and individuals outside of the Department (who are not operating as "agents" of the Department) may be permitted.
