Report Deceased and Sick Horses

AUTHORITY: Authorized by Section 9(b) of the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975 [230 ILCS 5].ILLINOIS RACING BOARD

a) The attending veterinarian and the trainer shall report immediately to the State Veterinerian:
1) Castrations, neurectomies, and all major surgical procedures.
2) Contagious and "exotic" appearing diseases.
3) Deceased horses.
4) Sick or disabled horses.
1. b) No deceased or sick horse may be removed from the grounds of a licensed race track operator without the prior approval of the State Veterinarian's office.
