282—13.5(256) Teacher intern license.

1. 13.5(1)  Authorization. The teacher intern is authorized to teach within qualified endorsement areas approved by the board of educational examiners for teacher internships.
2. 13.5(2)  Term. The term of the teacher intern license will be one school year. This license is nonrenewable.
3. 13.5(3)  Teacher intern requirements. A teacher intern license and endorsement may be issued to an applicant who has been recommended by an institution with a state-approved intern program.

4. 13.5(4)  Teacher intern extension and experience.

   1. a. A one-year extension of the teacher intern license may be issued upon application to an applicant who needs additional time to complete the internship program.
   2. b. Teaching experience completed during the term of the teacher intern license or extension may be used toward the experience requirement for the standard teaching license.
