A trustee is entitled to be repaid out of the trust property, with interest as appropriate, for all of the following expenditures:

1. 1. Expenditures that were properly incurred in the administration of the trust.
2. 2. To the extent that they benefited the trust, expenditures that were not properly incurred in the administration of the trust.
