As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:

1. 1. “College of veterinary medicine” means the Iowa state university of science and technology college of veterinary medicine.
2. 2. “Council” means the livestock health advisory council created pursuant to section 267.2.
3. 3. “Fund” means the livestock disease research fund created in section 267.8.
4. 4. “Livestock” means the same as defined in section 717.1.
5. 5. “Member organization” means an organization appointing one or more members to the council pursuant to sections 267.2 and 267.3.
6. 6. “Producer” means a person engaged in the business of producing livestock for profit.
